Zooey Deschanel (born January 17, 1980) is an American actress. She is the younger daughter of cinematographer and director Caleb Deschanel and actress Mary Jo Deschanel. Her older sister is actress Emily Deschanel, who had starred in FOX's Bones.
She portrayed Jessica Day in both FOX's New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, as part of a crossover between the two shows.
