"The Venue" is the 6th episode of Season Five of the FOX television show Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It aired on November 14, 2017.

Episode Synopsis[]

The always unwelcome Vulture (guest star Dean Winters) pops back into Jake and Amy's lives, threatening to swoop in and take something important away from them. Meanwhile, Boyle and Rosa must track down "Sergeant Peanut Butter," the kidnapped NYPD horse that Charles envies, and Holt challenges Terry to be less image-conscious.[1]

Plot[]

Jake and Amy begin their wedding planning making their deposits for flowers, cake, photography, etc. Their last stop is a nice mansion for their wedding venue, but they're told that someone else came in at the last minute to make a deposit despite Amy having an oral agreement with the manager. They realize that the Vulture had come in to take the venue, who is getting married to a woman named Jean Munhroe on the same day as Jake and Amy. Jake and Amy attempt to confront Jean, only to realize she is a kind woman who runs a children's charity. Jake and Amy are at a loss until they realize that the Vulture uses a hookup app that is also used by Hitchcock, and that the Vulture is marrying Jean because she is an heir to millions. Jake and Amy create a fake account to catfish the Vulture, who sends them multiple penis pictures. They confront the Vulture and tell him to break up with Jean respectfully or they will show her the penis pictures. The Vulture offers to give them the venue for their silence and they agree. However, seeing how much the Vulture has lied to Jean, including claiming his nickname is the "Eagle", Jake and Amy decide to reveal the truth to Jean, who breaks up with the Vulture.

Meanwhile, Boyle and Rosa are tasked with tracking down Sergeant Peanut Butter, the kidnapped NYPD horse that Charles envies. They find Peanut Butter and the horse thief, who sets the building on fire. Boyle manages to free Peanut Butter, who drags Boyle away in the chaos. Peanut Butter gets credit for saving Boyle, and while dashcam footage proves otherwise, public relations don't want Peanut Butter undermined. Rosa, however, leaks the footage and Boyle gets credit.

When Terry gloats about his butt in the third person, a female officer named Teri assumes he's talking about *her* butt and is offended. When Terry tries to explain he was talking about himself, Teri calls him arrogant. When Terry asks Holt for petty cash to throw Teri a party as an apology, Holt claims Terry has a pathological need to be liked, which Terry denies, but proves Holt right when he is unable to avoid talking to people. When Terry uses his own money to get various types of food for a party for Teri, Holt calls him unhinged and says he will like Terry less if he throws the party. Terry then decides to use the food for a party for Boyle for saving Peanut Butter.

In the aftermath following the Vulture and Jean, Jake and Amy manage to find a less glamorous venue at a rec center, while Hitchcock reveals the Vulture is throwing an all girl pudding wrestling party at the old venue on the same day.
