"The Bank Job" is the 21st episode of Season Four of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It premiered on May 23, 2017.
Episode Synopsis
As Jake and Rosa continue their search for a bank-robbing operation with Lieutenant Hawkins (guest star Gina Gershon), they realize there's more to her team than meets the eye. After discovering a dangerous secret, they call for back-up from Holt and Pimento (guest star Jason Mantzoukas). Meanwhile, Boyle objects to Gina's new boyfriend Milton (guest star Ryan Phillippe).[1]
Plot
Jake and Rosa inform Holt about Hawkins and her corrupt business with the bank robbers. Due to a lack of evidence, they decide to recur to Adrian Pimento for help.
Amy, Boyle and Terry note that Gina regularly gets out of the precinct and deduce she's pregnant. After confronting her, she admits she is but due a non-disclosure agreement, she won't reveal the father. They find that she is lying and ask again who the father is. Gina reveals the father is Boyle's cousin, Milton, much to Boyle's annoyance, as he considers Milton the worst in his family.
Adrian tells Jake and Rosa that they have to punch him to show they can be corrupt as Hawkins. They punch him in the slaughterhouse, but some of their conversation is filmed on camera. They find Hawkins destroyed the file and asks them to go for drinks that night. Using fake cocaine from the evidence room, they join them on the night and get a hangover. The next morning, they participate on a bank robbery, to which Jake sends Holt the address. Jake, Rosa and Hawkins' force arrives at the bank and are then arrested by the police. However, the address is a distinct bank and Hawkins frames Jake and Rosa, deeming herself to be undercover.

Behind The Scenes
- Jason Mantzoukas had a slightly different take on the cocaine than was intended. In the original writing of it, it was sort of accidental that he was snorting the cocaine. In the shooting of it, you can see in his eyes, he’s clearly going to do it, and that is a much funnier choice. Somehow that works really well with the lines where he keeps saying that it’s an accident but it’s clear that it’s not an accident.[2]
