- At the time of the season two finale's broadcast, no actor had been cast in the role of the new captain.
- On November 10, 2015 it was announced that after the holidays the show would move to Tuesdays at 9.00 PM, the same night but a half hour later than where the majority of Season One episodes aired.[1]
- On January 25, 2016, it was revealed that Jason Mantzoukas had been cast as Adrian Pimento in an upcoming episode.[2]
- On March 11, 2016, it was revealed that Dennis Haysbert had been cast as FBI Special Agent Bob Anderson in the final two episodes airing April 12 and April 19, 2016.[3]
- On October 14, 2015 it was revealed that Nick Offerman had been cast as Frederick, an ex-boyfriend of Ray Holt.[4]
