Notes[edit | edit source]
- The Jimmy Jab Games are returning.[6]
- The last time the game was seen is in Season Two.
- Goor revealed that the Season Seven finale’s cliffhanger would change the squad’s dynamic for a significant period of time.[6]
- However this was scrapped as stated by Goor "We had resolved the big Holt arc for the year… [and] we found out that we had a season eight earlier [than usual], so we didn't feel like we needed [a cliffhanger] to convince the network brass that they've gotta keep us going." [7]
- Actress and comedian Vanessa Bayer joined the series as Debbie Fogle, a uniformed officer at the Nine-Nine who gets paired with the stoic captain Raymond Holt.[8]
- Vanessa Bayer is the 11th Saturday Night Live alum who's appearing in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
- There is an episode focused on Detective Hitchcock's love life, which Goor describe as "I think people will think it’s funny, hopefully, but not too disturbing".[9]
- This season finally reveals whether Kelly is Detective Scully's dog or ex-wife.[9]
- While Holt is gone, Terry remained in charge of the precinct, as Goor revealed that "it would be more fun to explore the dynamic of Terry being in charge."[10]
- Actor J.K. Simmons appears as a guest star in the ninth episode of this season. He portrays Detective Frank Dillman, a former colleague of Captain Raymond Holt, and the best detective that he has ever known.[11]
