In the Season Three episode, 9 Days, Nick meets Raymond Holt who is with Jake Peralta to question him about Joey Garibaldi, a suspect in a cold case Jake hadn't been able to solve prior.
After talking with Nick in the hallway of his apartment, he tells them there's an emergency at the gym and he needs to leave. When they follow him to the gym they discover that the gym is closed due to an outbreak of the Mumps.
