Brooklyn Nine-Nine Wiki

Marshawn Terrell Lynch is an American football athlete in the National Football League (NFL). He played on the Buffalo Bills from 2007 to 2010 and then on the Seattle Seahawks from 2010 to 2015. He had retired on February 7, 2016 but returned to the sport in early April. He has been playing as the running back for the Oakland Raiders since 2017 up to currently.

He portrayed a spoof version of himself in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, where he is in the vicinity of a prisoner breakout but does not actually see the crime occur and spends his whole screen time enthusiastically deviating from answering questions, obsessively talking about his pico de gallo.

  • The storyline of The Fugitive Pt. 1 draws slight parallels to Lynch’s real life.
    • In the episode, he is a witness to a horde of convicts who have just escaped from a prison van on the streets of New York. When brought into the Nine-Nine, the squad is skeptical that they will extract much information from him given his record with the press.
      • During an interview with the press on the 2015 Superbowl annual media day, Lynch answered every question with some variation of “I’m here so I won’t get fined,” which came after the NFL threatened a $500,000 fine if he failed to show up for media day.[1]
