Kyra Sedgwick is an American actress, producer, and director. She is best known for her role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the police drama series The Closer. She played Deputy Chief Madeline Wuntch on the NBC series Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
She made her directorial debut in the show's season seven episode Dillman.

Sedgwick has been married to actor Kevin Bacon since 1988, with whom she has a son, Travis Sedgwick Bacon, and a daughter, actress Sosie Ruth Bacon.
