John William Weichselbraun is an incarcerated world-famous oboist who used to play first chair in the New York Symphony Orchestra. (It should be mentioned, however, that the orchestra no longer exists.)

Throughout the Series[]

In House Mouses, Capt. Raymond Holt admits that he is a fan of Weichselbraun; a so-called Weichselbrauniac. At a concert at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, where Weichselbraun performed Oboe Sonata in G-Minor, Raymond, who was sitting front-row, had to be escorted out for gasping too loud. Later, Weichselbraun reported a robbery in which his oboe would have been stolen. Charles later discovered that, in fact, Weichselbraun was trying to sell the oboe and faked the robbery, gaining both money from insurance and from the buyer. Weichselbraun was later arrested for insurance fraud.
