In the Season Three cold open for the episode, Hostage Situation, Jay-Jay meets Raymond Holt, Jake Peralta and Charles Boyle when he knocks a cup of coffee out of Holt's hand. When Holt reprimands him, Jay-Jay fires back with asking him if he's going to arrest him for dancing. He provokes him by calling him cop in a derogatory way.
Holt responds by telling him that what he's doing isn't dancing and goes on to show him what dancing really is. By the time Jake is able to pull out a phone to record the situation the situation was diffused, with Jay-Jay smiling behind Holt.
