Episode Synopsis[]

Jake and Charles go back in time to 1986, when Hitchcock and Scully were the studs of the 99th Precinct. They also discover a creepy sex can that Hitchcock owns and go to Wing Slutz. Amy's uniformed officers are having to share the 4th floor with the detectives and tensions rise when Terry and Rosa blame the first floor people for dirtying the kitchen and bathrooms. Captain Holt becomes annoyed with the squabbles as he prepares to appear on the news in an unapproved media appearance to complain about the commissioner.

Rosa and Jake walk across the bullpen atop wall-to-wall desks. Gina yells across the bullpen to tell Jake and Boyle that Holt wants to see them. Holt assigns them to a case being investigated by Internal Affairs. It belonged to Michael Hitchcock and Norm Scully and took place in the 1980s. Holt suspects it’s being investigated as retaliation from John Kelly.

Terry and Rosa confront Amy about the state of the fourth floor restrooms and blame “the downstairs people” for the mess. Amy counters that half the mess is theirs and that Terry’s prejudiced against the first floor.

Unpacking the case, Hitchcock and Scully tell the details:

  • Gio Costa was a drug lord
  • They had an inside informant
  • They recovered cocaine and 3 duffel bags of cash

Gawking at the photos of physically fit Young Scully and Hitchcock. Jake notices a 4th duffel bag and asks about it. They become defensive until they storm out of the room.

Amy confronts Terry and Rosa about an offensive “No Downstairs People” sign on the microwave. They found the original owner and got his widow to sign an affidavit banning the downstairs staff from using it. Amy storms off to [Holt’s office where she interrupts him doing vocal warm-ups in preparation for a news interview he has scheduled. As they share their complaints, Holt reprimands them and tells them he doesn’t care. As Holt returns to preparing John Kelly arrives at his office.

Jake asks about the duffel bag again and Hitchcock offers proof he didn’t take it by way of his financial records. While looking through them Jake notices a monthly charge for a parking spot. Upon investigating they discover The Beaver Trap, a sketchy black van. While searching the inside of it, Hitchcock and Scully lock Jake and Charles inside and steal their squad car.

After escaping from The Beaver Trap they track Hitchcock and Scully to the Marine Park location of Wing Slutz. They drive the Beaver Trap and find them eating wings. As they put them under arrest a woman in a Wing Slutz uniform interrupts. She is the informant, Marissa Costa, who has been living as Donna, the manager at Wing Slutz, since her husband was arrested. Hitchcock and Scully took the 4th duffel bag of cash and gave it to her to start her new life after their captain refused to put her in witness protection. For her protection they never spoke, but if she put an extra chicken wing in their bucket they knew she was okay.

Amy apologizes to Terry and Rosa and calls for a truce. While shaking hands she gives a command and her squad puts a fish inside the microwave and turns it on. It runs for a few seconds until the microwave explodes. The noise from the explosion brings Holt out from his office where he chastises Amy, Rosa and Terry for their petty squabble. Terry defends their actions by pointing out that they’re not little nor petty.

The stench of burnt fish proliferates through the precinct attracting the attention of John Kelly. He threatens to make things worse when Holt snaps telling Kelly that he can continue to make things harder, none of it will make him stop. Confused, John Kelly points out that the Internal Affairs investigation isn’t because of him and thanks Holt for the idea. Holt promptly calls Jake.

Jake realizes whoever called Scully claiming to be Internal Affairs was from the 1980s case and looking for the informant. Vehicles come screeching to a stop in front of Wing Slutz as Jake and Boyle gather everyone in the restaurant to the back kitchen area.

Gio Costa and his armed men infiltrate the restaurant and block the back entrance. Hitchcock and Scully make a plan to use the Slut Sauce as bulletproof vests. They storm out the back entrance wearing sauce buckets with guns blazing to find Holt, Terry and Amy in the process of arresting Gio Costa.

While Peralta gives everyone the all clear, an officer is handcuffing Gio who escapes his clutches and grabs a gun from his sock. He shoots it at Marissa and Hitchcock and Scully jump in front of her. The bullets hit the Slut Sauce and protect both of them.

Holt apologizes for losing sight of his squad. Amy and Terry make amends. Still wondering what happened to Hitchcock and Scully, a flashback shows them checking in on Marissa at Wing Slutz. As they’re off to the gym she offers them a bucket of wings. After tasting them for the first time they promptly lose their minds.
