Throughout the Series[]

Season One[]

In The Vulture, Jake and Charles questioned the doorman about the possibility of a hiding place for a murder weapon that had gone missing. The doorman was frustrated about having to repeat himself and attempted to record his answer on his cell phone so that he could just play it back for the detectives.

In an attempt to play the message, he accidentally played back a different recording; "Idea for a novel: A mild-mannered doorman gets bitten on the penis by a radioactive spider and becomes the world's greatest lover." When Jake pushed him for details on the rest of the plot, the doorman revealed that his character rescues the First Lady of the United States.

  • Hawley's novel idea is reminiscent of Spider-Man's origin story.
