Fereydun Robert "Fred" Armisen is an American actor, comedian, writer, producer and musician. He portrays Mlep(clay)nos on Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Armisen is best known as a cast member of Saturday Night Live (SNL) from 2002 into 2013; all the while Andy Samberg was also part of the show's cast. He has appeared on many TV shows and movies with other past SNL cast members, too. To name several: in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy starring Will Ferrell, in Baby Mama starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, in The Last Man on Earth starring Will Forte, and in Forever alongside with Maya Rudolph.

He was the co-creator and co-star of the IFC sketch comedy series Portlandia. He has acted as some quirky characters in movies like EuroTrip, Cop Out, Easy A, and Zoolander 2. He also has done some voice acting; as Brainy Smurf in The Smurfs and The Smurfs 2 and as Cole (the laid-back, music-loving black Ninja of Earth) in The Lego Ninjago Movie.

Armisen was also the voice of Elliot Birch (& various minor voices) in Netflix's Big Mouth and the bandleader for the Late Night with Seth Meyers house band, The 8G Band.
