In the Season One episode, Unsolvable, Frank meets Jake Peralta and Terry Jeffords when they are questioning prisoners who have a connection to Case 52ABX-32QJ. They find Frank in the prison's infirmary after he was beat up with shivs badly.
He provided pivotal information about Nate Dexter in exchange for a transfer from the cell block he was currently on. He connected him to Sam Bunsen, who turned out to be the murder victim instead of who they thought it was, Nate Dexter.
