In The Slaughterhouse, detectives Jake Peralta and Rosa Diaz are tailing Ocampo to bust him during an illegal deal, but he escapes. In their minds, he is just a low-level drug dealer. However, it is revealed that Lieutenant Melanie Hawkins is also following Ocampo because she thinks he can take them to the Golden Gang Bank Robbers. After acquiring intel from his C.I., Jake arrests Ocampo and takes him to Hawkins. He later overhears Hawkins asking Ocampo to sell stolen diamonds from the heist, revealing that Ocampo works for her, and her crew is in fact the Golden Gang Bank Robbers.
