Episode Synopsis[]

Following the events of the previous two episodes time skips to two months after Jake Peralta and Rosa Diaz were arrested for robbing a bank and stealing $26 million. As their trial unfolds Melanie Hawkins undermines them at every turn leaving both of them fearful that they might have to go to prison for 15 years.

The episode starts mere days before the beginning of Jake and Rosa's trial. Security footage of the bank is shown on Channel 12 on TV, along with Jake and Rosa's pictures and a video of Jake at a Criss Angel magic show, his "first time being on the 'wrong side of the law'". Jake and Rosa are currently out on bail, but face up to 15 years in prison if convicted. The two end up being framed for "robbing the bank."

Behind the Scenes[]

  • In one of the first scripts at the end of the episode, Andy Samberg had his eyes closed, and said, “And now I wake up… And now I wake up.” Then it went to black.
  • Another version was him waking up in jail.[1] Dan Goor said it could've been confusing and that he didn't want anyone thinking it was a dream.
  • The line of Andy Samberg saying, “Cool, cool, cool" at the end after the verdict came up on set. Andy Samberg did something that seems physically impossible where he seemed to say “Cool,” two times at one time, three times in a row.[1]
  • Andy Samberg and Stephanie Beatriz loved doing stories together, so they were really into the Rosa-Jakeness of it. They liked how dark it was, and it felt like something they could sink their teeth into.[1]
