Brown Betty is the name of the brown couch in the break room. Hitchcock and Scully are very attached to her.

In the Season Four episode, Your Honor, Charles, Rosa and Terry redesign the break room and get rid of Brown Betty. When they un-redesigned it they discovered that Brown Betty turned to dust the minute she hit the sunlight and she was replaced with a stylish yellow sofa.
