"AC/DC" is the 20th episode of Season Two in the Brooklyn Nine-Nine television series. It originally aired on April 26, 2015 to 2.78 million viewers. Viewers give it a 7.6 out of 10 on IMDb.
Episode Synopsis[]
After Jake Peralta injures himself on a case, Terry Jeffords forces him to take time off and rest, something Jake doesn’t know how to do. Across town, Raymond Jacob Holt and Rosa Diaz try to avoid intimate conversation during a double-date with their significant others.
Jake Peralta and Charles Boyle pursue a perp who was trapped and chose to escape by running on the tops of cars at a stop. Jake follows him and falls into a car's sun roof, injuring himself. Later at the precinct, Jake is told by Terry Jeffords to go home and rest while he is healing.
After a few days, Jake and Boyle depart for Atlantic City to take a vacation at a four-star hotel. Calling the trip: Atlantic City/Dudes Club. However, once they arrive, Jake reveals to Boyle they're following the perp, much to his disappointment. Jake then renames the trip Atlantic City/Detectives Club. A few hours later, Terry shows up to the hotel, as Boyle informed him of Jake trying to evade Terry's command . While waiting for the Atlantic City Police Department to come and take over Jake's case, they find the perp and a chase ensues. Jake is hit by the Atlantic City Police Department's car, injuring himself further.
At the hospital, Jake explains to Terry that the reason why he can't leave the case open is because he blames himself for stopping working on a case while he went out with some friends, resulting in the death of two civilians. After some advice, Jake decides to rest and takes another actual vacation with Boyle to Atlantic City to make up for their promise.
Holt tells Rosa that Kevin wants to set up dinner to meet her and Marcus. Fearing the dinner may go awry, Holt invites Amy and Gina to the dinner as well. However, their subway train is delayed and they fail to get to the dinner and both decide to get drunk. In the dinner, Rosa leaves abruptly, telling Holt she fears she may be pregnant and the dinner ends. The next day, Rosa reveals to Holt she isn't pregnant and thanks him for the dinner.
- The title of this episode refers to the names given to trips in this episode. They include; "Atlantic City Dudes Club", "Atlantic City Detectives Club" and "Atlantic City Destruction Crew." Spelled the same way, it is also a reference to popular hard rock band AC/DC.
